Very eloquent. I completely understand how you feel.<BR/><BR/>Realizing what you've realized is half the game. Most people in the world (including adults) will never realize what you just wrote. Now that you understand how the game works, you'll need to scheme and strategize. Like physics, the most sophisticated ideas in life are the most easily simplified.<BR/><BR/>Today I met my dad's college roommates in San Fransisco. They are the traditional Asian parents you talk about with interesting careers. Startup companies, Real estate developer, MRI Researcher, etc. They are all raising two kids, but I'm the second in the lot going to college. I was extremely wary of being treated as a trophy, but they knocked my socks off. They just really wanted to know how to raise their kids. So, in turn, I surprised them. I told them what I learned at Stanford: Every successive generation will be smarter than the first. (At least we hope so). If that is true, then your kids will be far more intelligent than you in processing new information, mapping out life, and forecasting the future. Let them be. Let them make decisions. Then they'll thrive.<BR/><BR/>I don't mean to pick the scab of a healing wound, but Stanford's personality is very progressive. It rarely looks back to reflect, but completely concentrates on the present, its current resources, and its vision ahead.
